Switzerland
On our way to the meditation centre we had a challenging day. It was raining heavily. Upon stopping at a servo and me running to the toilets, I came back out to see our car flanked by a police car and an officer leaning in talking to Marc. We were being fined for not having the required E-tag equivalent to drive on the freeway. We explained that we hadn't seen a place to purchase said sticker, but the officer informed us it wasn't his problem and proceeded to fine us 100 francs ($100) plus the 40 francs to buy the sticker. A bit sore from that, we drove on for about 10 minutes when Marc wound down the automatic window to de-fog it and then couldn't get it to go up again!! All we could do was laugh at that stage! Being a public holiday that day nothing was open so we stopped to try and pull the window up ourselves. Through some bizarre coincidence (if you believe in them) a guy pulled up next to us who had internet in his car, as well as GPS so he keyed in servo and then guided us to a little servo that happened to have a guy there!! Not having any German and the guy not having any English, we ended up communicating in Italian and for 20 euros the guy yanked the window up with brute force and stuck it with duct tape to last us the rest of the trip until we could get it properly fixed!! It made all of the toll stops from then on quite interesting as we had to physically get out of the car, not being able to just wind down the window!!
So then we arrived at the centre in strangely high spirits and started the course. Both of us had quite weird courses, but very valuable. On the final day, snow began falling, which made it all very special and unique..... then it was back to Barcelona!
