This a running account of life in Spain (and wherever I find myself in the future), that will hopefully be more fun for you than reading my bulk emails... it will allow for a bit more detail and a bit more interest You can also post comments if you like...or email me, I don“t mind!! It's a bit of an ancient blogging site so please bear with the formatting. Also, look down the right hand side for archived posts... have fun!

Vitoria/Gasteiz

We began our journey north in Vitoria/Gasteiz in the Basque country. This was after a failed attempt to hike and camp in Monserrat due to a downpour and some very wet and disgruntled Quebecans who were accompanying us.

Marc's dad is from Vitoria so we spent a lot of time seeing various family members, and also checking out the Fiesta Major, where here everyone dresses in traditional Basque clothing and basically drink and eat for seven days. There are 'teams' who go around together playing music and drinking... and drinking a bit more. It seems very Scottish in it's culture... bagpipes etc... thankfully I borrowed a jumper and rainjacket from Marc's aunty before we left Vitoria as the ensuing weather was pretty cold!
