A hike in the Gorge

After many changes of plan of what we should do for the long weekend we finally decided to do a hike out at Nitmiluk. A good choice!!

Great company, yummy food, nice weather, swimming.... couldn't ask for much more really!!

We did a 24km round trip with two nights camping. Our team included friends Seb and Salome and a Couchsurfer, Regina, from Germany.

Went to the 5th gorge and swam to the 6th for a look... will definitely have to canoe one time!!

It was all a bit stressful to begin with, with Marc and Regina leaving without us and us worrying because we were carrying all the food (not just because they would starve but also because it was bloody heavy to carry!). Then when we went to register the park ranger wasn't going to let us leave because it was too late in the day... but we convinced her that we were experienced Territory hikers and she let us go... we stepped it out big time and made the 9km in 2 hours... not bad considering I was carrying a good 20kg (at least that's what it felt like!)

All was well in the end where we were reunited at the campground and ate delicious thai curry and told silly stories...
