Trip 2008-2009: Chennai

Again we arrived in the dark of the night in Chennai and again we had the comfort of a couchsurfing host's house to head to. After our driver got terribly lost trying to get us there it took us more than an hour to arrive... very happy to sleep!!

We only had a day to look around so after a yummy brekkie where we discovered masala dhosas, we headed off to explore the city. All Indians say that Chennai is really backwards and bogged down in tradition and after seeing other places I would probably agree. Though the universal temple (pictured) was a really great experience.. and the Hindu temple was also pretty cool but we got ripped off... and it was only the beginning!!

Another highlight was watching a funeral procession of sorts (left) where all the men were dancing and smiling and the dead body was paraded through the streets....
