The Trip 2008-2009: Jaipur, the blue city

Jaipur rocks. After spending 3 days in a meditation course just outside of Jaipur (a silent retreat with many chatty Indian meditators and peacocks... strange), we were a bit nervous about re-entering the world with force into the busy city of Jaipur.

I think this was where we tried to stay at one place and ended up at another... we arrived very late at night and discovered the next morning that the place we had wanted to go down was just own the road... so we went there for brekky as a compromise.... yummy food at last!!

Jaipur is the blue city after many of the buildings were painted blue as a sign of friendship to a visiting king from England.

The palace was just stunning, so well maintained. We did an audio guide thing this time which was very informative and time consuming. Thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Marc was beginning to feel a bit unwell at this stage so we weren't able to explore much more but we did enjoy this city... and the pigeons all over the grain sale place... eeeeww!!
